Updating the past week in my life as an Internet marketer and website developer…
I finally converted my Beef Stick Reviews to WordPress. It was mostly an experiment in converting a Blogger blog to WordPress. What made this conversion different from converting In Your Web from Blogger to WordPress, is that I was able to keep the Blogger version of the site up and running while working on the WordPress version. I had to chat with a tech at my WordPress hosting provider on how to create a work environment. And this is significant because it’ll help do the same with clients.
I lost an advertiser on Interment.net. It was a company that sold professional genealogy services. If you know Interment.net, it simply publishes records of burials which people can use for free. So, it’s visitors are generally folks trying to do their own genealogy research, which is not exactly compatible with a company that sells professional genealogy service. They got tons of visitors from me, but none of converted well for them. Sucks for me because I lose out on money.
My wife and I are also working on a new site called “Fix My Yelp”. It’s an extension to a PDF document we sell called, “Yelp Help“, explaining how business owners can boost their Yelp ratings. We had actually talked about starting a Twitter for the Yelp Help document, just to help give it more publicity. But it seemed like it needed its own site to gather traffic off of Google as well.
